Equity Update

What We Did in 2024

  • Hosted nine internal equity learning sessions with our team. This is an opportunity to push ourselves and look at our work with a critical lens. We discussed topics ranging from body liberation to migrant labour.

    • Welcomed other organizations to help lead two of these sessions and offer a new perspective on our work. A special shoutout to the staff at CMHA and the Migrant Action Centre for spending time with us.

  • Continued to pair our equity sessions with implementation sessions to discuss our next steps and how to incorporate what we learned in our work.

  • Led a public-facing Coffee's On session about our internal equity processes with the Community Sector Council.

  • Explored how we will integrate a stronger climate crisis and justice lens into our work.

What We Plan to Do in 2025

  • Push the lens of our team learnings beyond just 'equity' and into 'justice'.

  • Return to topics that are especially relevant to our work for a deeper dive.

  • Make space to engage with topics from the news and/or related to global events (e.g. tariffs).
